How to Draw A Pony filled with cool colors
Learn how to draw a pony with a cute body and a simple design! This fun cartoon character can now be drawn using a six steps drawing technique. To make the tutorial even easier and more accessible to beginners, a front view is now available instead of the more challenging side view version. Now that everything is in place, let's work on this cartoon character now!
The first thing you are probably wondering is: why a pink pony? Well, I colored my cartoon animal is pink because unlike a horse, a pony is usually associated with creativity and girl's toys. Of course, it doesn't really matter since you can always change the color yourself, but I thought a good explanation was needed! :)
Step 1
Cool! Now that we know why this fun character is pink, let's draw it. First, you can form the head with a large circle. However, don't draw a perfect circle. It must be a mix between a circle and a square with round corners. Same thing for the jaw!
Step 2
Once you are done with the head and jaw, you can sketch the body and legs. The body is made from a similar shape. You can draw a shape as large as the head. The legs and hooves are created from rectangles. Study the illustration below carefully to make sure that you are duplicating every little detail accurately.
Step 3
The mane on top of the head is drawn from a long curved line. Eyes are sketched from large circles and located just above the jaw. We want to create a fun and lovely character, so large eyes are crucial to achieve this goal. Finally, a long triangle made from curved lines can be used to represent the tail.
Step 4
Nice. The character is now appearing in front of our eyes! For a better vision, you might want to add pupils inside the eyes. I like to draw the left one slightly towards the right and the right one slightly towards the left instead of placing both pupils in the middle of the eyes. The ears can be drawn using two long triangles.
Step 5
Duplicate the shape used to draw the ears and add this one inside each ear. On the shape used to illustrate the jaw, draw two small dots for the nose and a single line for the mouth. Small oval shapes can be drawn on the pupils.
Step 6
Nice work! This pony is similar to the horse drawn earlier, but the mane is different and the character is slightly smaller. Of course, you can play with colors and change a few things if you want to.
